Remote observing

A specific observing system was development to do remote observing with FIES. This included software to operate the instrument and telescope, but also modifications to the status displays, and specific systems to transfer the data and center the target on the fiber. Also, a system was set-up for the staff present at the telescope to monitor things.

The system was extensively used during the ``Observational Stellar Astrophysics School 2008'' held at Moletai observatory in Lithuania, and was a great success. The same system was also later successfully used for a 2 hour observing run as part of a training course from Uppsala University
