Proposal 70-508
Semester P71: 20250401 - 20251001
Principal Investigator Grigori Fedorets
Programme Probing the diversity of the smallest building blocks of the Solar System
Instrument ALFOSC
Time Allocation 6 x 2h hard ToO + 6 x 2h SoftToO
Total Nights 24h
Type ToO+SoftToO
Notes
Total Time Spent 03:53 (hh:mm)
Proposal Date Time Type Targets Files Comments Status
70-508 2025-07-18 01:04 ToO A11pVsf ALIg180350 - ALIg180363 Target observed with few thin clouds and approx. 1 arcsec. seeing. Observed
70-508 2025-08-31 01:22 SoftToO 2025QH16 ALIh310091 - ALIh310108 Observed with seeing fluctuating around 1.0''. The OB was done in two parts, since the script was started right before midnight which caused an error in the hitandrun script and needed to be restarted with a new timestamp. Observed
70-508 2025-09-16 00:00 SoftToO None None Attempted multiple times, but exposures yielded wonky star lines and the comet was not visible in the frames. Failed
70-508 2025-09-24 01:15 ToO 2025SB4, hd28099 ALIi240077 - ALIi240097 11 exposures of 300s obtained with 2 OB executions - resetting after 9th exposure during the first run. Both science target and the std. star observed through thin clouds and with seeing just below 1 arcsec. Observed
70-508 2025-09-25 00:12 ToO None None Observations failed due to tcs.asteph command not being able to compute the orbit. The provided commands were syntactically correct, but the script itself could not carry out the calculations. The error log is long and we unfortunately can't copy-paste from out observing system, but please let me know if a reproduction of the error messages would help. The most prominent errors are regarding "initial orbit not available" and "no sample orbits found". Last message: "No orbit could be found, nothing much can be done. Abort observations." Failed

The above information is collected from the ToO/Mon reports that have been created by the observer.

Should any of the observations have been carried out using the OB system, you will find additional information HERE
