-FIES building got a new small heat pump for thermal problems solution in very hot sommer time. It was installed in the entrance room and the cryotiger was re-positioned just under the cooling inside radiator, far from the spectrograph room door.
FIES building
- On 5 June 2014 a heat-pump was installed in the front room to replace the cooling system that was linked to the general NOT cooling system. Many of the temperature sensors in the FIES building were not operational for a while, but sensors 510 and 513 show that the new cooling unit is doing a good job so far.
ToDo:
- The new CCD pumping ducts will be installed when the new CCD is put in place.
- One of the CryoTiger compressors needs to be sent back to the supplier, as it needs a fix to allow for regular filter-changes.
- many of the temperature sensors do not report to the database anylonger, such that retrospective quality control is not possible. Needs to be fixed.
From the few data that did make it to the DB, the temperature control loops seem to be working OK.
All the preparations were made to install the new CCD pumping system that will allow to have the pump in the FIES front room, and reduce the change in the temperature in the FIES room when the dewar needs to be pumped. The system will be installed when the new CCD is in place (see above).
