One of our main objectives is to implement a system that sets a number of keywords in the headers of each FITS file that provides a complete and unique description of each data file as for the observing set-up, the type of observation and the observing technique used. The is strongly linked to the OB system that will be involved in setting these keywords, and to the data acquisition and archiving system that will use this information.
