PolCor

An experimental polarimeter including a corona-graph (PolCor) developed by Göran Olofsson from Stockholm observatory was installed on the telescope during 2 nights as part of the Stockholm course in May and during 2 technical nights in October.

During the technical nights a limited evaluation was made of its possible suitability as a StanCam replacement. The data still needs to be fully analyzed but a report with a first technical assessment has been prepared. In general there are still many small issues concerning the precise operations of the camera, and clearly a proper data acquisition needs to be written. There is the usual spurious (clock induced) charge problem from the L3CCD, and a better understanding of the operation of the camera is required before a clear conclusion can be made of its usefulness.
