Weather station

A study has been made of the weather station to check if adequate spares exist and if it can be maintained properly, where it was concluded that an upgrade is needed. Comparing the options of upgrading the existing weather station or purchasing a new one it was found that the relative costs of the two options were similar. Considering that in the long run it should be easier to maintain a more modern installation, which is also more likely to be compatible with other new hardware and software, it was decided to purchase a new Vaisala weather station. The plan is to install the new station along with the old system, which allows for a directly calibration between the two systems making a changeover relatively simple, and where one system will serve as back-up for the other.
