Spectroscopy

As part of the calibration plan a script has been developed to automatically reduce and plot data taken of spectrophotometric standards. A new, non-IDL version, of the software to align slits and grisms is being developed.

New high-quality slits have been purchased, specifically to provide smoother and more regular slits. Holders are being prepared, after which they can be tested. Considering the high efficiency achieved with the new VPH grism we should consider to purchase more grisms.

Quite a few calibration lamps broke down during the past period. New spares have been ordered and the power supplies were checked for possible problems.
