HiRAC Startup Procedure

1. Log in on the PC called elizabeth using the name and password supplied by the staff.
   If sandra is used as instrument PC, then log in on this one instead

2. Open a xterm window from the root menu.

3. Change directory to hirac (command: cd hirac).

4. Start the CCD Control Program "BIAS" by typing startbh.

   NOTE: "BIAS" should be restarted before starting observations each night. This is needed for the accesscode and image filenames.

5. In the "BIAS" command window you are prompted for an accesscode. Go to the TCS terminal and type sh 84. On this status page the current accesscode is listed. Type that at the "BIAS" prompt.

6. You can start your observations.

1. In the "BIAS" command window type the command exit to exit.
