Simultaneous linear and circular polarimetry with FAPOL

With the 1/4 wave plate mounted in the FAPOL unit it is possible to measure simultaneously the linear and circular polarimetry - however, at an efficiency cost of about 50% for the linear polarimetry. The lambda/4 plate is then stepped by 22.5 degrees.

In the OB generator you can select this mode. It is currently being tested on standards.

Setup and focus offsets is the same as for Circular polarimetry.

NB! Note that the default setup in FAPOL is the lambda/2 plate, and you have to specifically ask for lambda/4 to be installed.
